Another Mould Breaker Gone

This week we have had to say goodbye to one of the most legendary and influential people I’ve ever known, my Grandma. One of a kind doesn’t come to close to describing her, to coin a phrase she often used, she would “call a spade a spade and if they don’t like it they can piss off”. Some people would deem this flat out racism of course but anyone who met her would know better than this. She was the most kind hearted and welcoming person I have ever had the privilege to be related to, the shirt off her back or her last pound were never too much for a person in need no matter who they were.

The hat

So Jen gets me a top hat for my birthday, I can’t stop wearing it. So far I’ve worn it in the pub, at the work’s do, in the van, in the sea at midnight. I think I’m going to have some serious fun with this hat. I already have the rabbit :)>

Updates Galore!

I have been adding media to the site like mad, check out the VioLATE and DownFACE pages in the music section. I have utilised Soundcloud for my music storage/streaming to make this a more social experience and to make my life easier when compiling playlists. YouTube powers the videos, unfortunately I have had to use flash for the most of this which I’m not a huge fan of but no doubt html5 happenings aren’t too far off being universal on both of these platforms.

A new server

There will be some disruptions to the site as I move it over to a new server, this should improve the load times and general reliability of the site. I am hoping to get all of this done this week in order to get some new projects rolling and to complete the content of this site.

UPDATE

The switch is done and to top matters off I have also found the time to upload a ton of stuff to the music section, expect more over the coming days…

XBMC and why I love it so (Part 1?)

Many moons ago I found myself wanting to build a pc that I could hook up to my TV and watch all of my digital media through, I figured that I didn’t need anything powerful and that it would be nice if I could incorporate a remote control.

I asked my friend who at he time was working for IBM if he had any suggestions and he informed me that I should buy an xbox. I pointed out that I wasn’t looking for a games console and suddenly a whole new world was opened up to me, the world of console hacking.
